Kacie Maternity Photo Session - Misty Day Perfection

I believe that portraits should speak to who you are as a person. As a photographer, I cater your session (location, styling, poses, etc) to your personality and style. When it was time for Kacie's maternity pictures, I sent her a questionnaire to get a better sense of what she wanted out of her session. A couple key things was that she liked darker colors and liked oak trees. Being a New Orleans area photographer, my mind definitely went to the beautiful oaks at Fountainbleu State Park first - some of the prettiest oaks on the Northshore. In conversation, Kacie also mentioned the idea of shooting near a swampy area (still Fountainbleu was perfect). So we set a date on a Sunday in February for momma, daddy, and sister to have a beautiful maternity photo shoot at Fountainbleu State Park in Mandeville.

Of course, Louisiana winter weather is no joke so the whole week leading up to Kacie's maternity photo shoot it rained, and rained and rained. The day of her session it didn't pour but there was a fine mist in the air and no sun in sight. Sounds dreary but it can make for some pretty dreamy photos. So we braved the weather and flooded park. The plan was to keep them as dry as possible while I walked in the water to get the shots (being from here, no big deal😉).

Kacie borrowed a new addition to my maternity client closet - a Chicaboo Harper top and Zoe skirt in Smokey Amethyst. 😍 The color looked amazing on her skin tone and with her hair color!

The water wound up being amazing for us because we got some really fun creative shots with it.

After our water shots, we headed to the oak trees.
