Welcome to the World Wyatt

A friend from high school reached out months ago asking me if I would be interested in photographing the birth of her baby boy and of course I jumped at the chance. I mean, babies are why I started portrait photography in the first place.

The week before last the soon to be mommy told me the big day would be Saturday. Yay!! After months of waiting I was finally going to witness the miracle that is childbirth (from a 3rd party perspective). I was going to capture all of the anticipation and excitement and I couldn't wait!

Saturday came and I was prepared. I kept in touch with daddy so I didn't bother the laboring momma. The hospital was an hour away so I made sure to give myself plenty of time to get there. It would have been absolutely horrible to miss anything. Anyway, I finally got there and took some great snaps of mom and dad awaiting their son's arrival. And waiting, and waiting. The little man just wanted to stay with his mom and not come out.

After a long labor, the doctor and family decided to proceed with a Caesarean. Luckily, the doctors still allowed me to capture the beautiful moment of Wyatt entering the world.

After a bit of a scare, Wyatt fought to see his mommy and daddy. Once this baby boy saw his mom, he couldn't take his eyes off of her.

Welcome to the world, little Wyatt. You are so loved already.
