FAQ

Where are you based and do you travel?

I'm based in the charming town of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, where my studio is also located. For your convenience, I happily travel across the Northshore for various sessions, bringing my photographic expertise right to your preferred location. Additionally, for certain types of sessions, I'm willing to extend my reach up to 65 miles from Ponchatoula. This includes the vibrant New Orleans metro area, the historic city of Baton Rouge, and the picturesque Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Please note that while I'm open to shooting in New Orleans, I am selective about the specific areas within the city for sessions.

For those who are a bit farther away or have a special location in mind, I'm also available to travel to more distant locations. The travel fee for such sessions will be determined based on the specific location requested. This flexibility ensures that no matter where you are, we can work together to create beautiful, lasting memories through photography. So, whether it's in the heart of Ponchatoula or a destination of your choosing, I'm ready to capture your special moments.

I'm terrible in front of the camera, can you help?

Absolutely, helping you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera is my whole job! I understand that being in front of the camera can be daunting for many people, but I'm here to guide you through the process. I'll provide direction on posing, help you relax, and ensure that the experience is enjoyable. My goal is to capture your natural expressions and make sure you look your best in the final images. You're in good hands, so don't worry!

How many pictures will we receive?

The number of pictures you will receive depends on the type of session you choose. Each session comes with a set number of proofs, offering a variety of shots for you to preview. Included in your session, you'll also receive your first 5 digital images complete with print release and digital rights, at no extra cost.

Should you find yourself captivated by more than these initial 5 images, you have the option to purchase additional digital images, prints, or even wall art. This flexibility allows you to customize your selection according to your preferences and needs, whether you're looking for a few special images to cherish or a larger collection to decorate your home and share with loved ones. The additional cost for these purchases varies based on the products and the number of images you select. This system ensures that you have the freedom to choose exactly what you want from your photoshoot, making the experience as personalized and fulfilling as possible.

Can you explain a proof vs a digital image with full release?

Absolutely, I can clarify that. A proof is a preliminary version of your photographs, which is provided for you to review before final processing. These proofs are typically watermarked and are not intended for printing or sharing. They allow you to select your favorite images or request any changes.

In contrast, a digital image with full release, as offered in my business, includes both printing and sharing rights. This means you can print these images at any business that offers print services, including for wall art or photo books, and also share them on social media and websites. The full release provides you with complete freedom to use, display, and share your images as you see fit.

How much is the deposit?

No deposit is required for most sessions! We aim to keep things simple and accessible. The only exception is if your session involves special rentals or specific decor fees. In such cases, we'll communicate clearly about any necessary deposit to cover these additional costs.

I have no clue what to wear, can you help?

I'm here to assist you with styling your family for the session. I can provide you with tips and guidance on choosing outfits that will look great in photographs. If you give me a budget, I can even help find clothes that would work best for everyone involved. Additionally, the women in the session have access to my client closet, and I also have a limited selection for little girls. With these resources, we'll make sure everyone looks fantastic and feels comfortable for your photo session.

Do I need to have my own dress?

Absolutely not! I take pride in offering a diverse and exquisite client closet that is at your full disposal. This collection has been carefully curated with a variety of stunning dresses, ensuring that every mom can find something that makes her feel beautiful and comfortable during the session. However, if you have a dress or an outfit that holds sentimental value or represents a special part of your story, I would be more than happy to incorporate it into our session. My goal is to make your experience as personalized and meaningful as possible, blending my wardrobe options with any significant pieces you wish to include. So, feel free to explore our client closet or bring a piece of your own – the choice is yours!

Do you have certain locations you shoot at?

We have a selection of recommended locations where we can conduct the photoshoot. Alternatively, if these are for senior portraits, we can also use your school's campus as the setting. This flexibility ensures that we can capture your special moments in a location that best suits your preferences and the theme of the shoot.

What is a set?

A "set" in photography, especially in the context of a photoshoot, refers to a specific arrangement or setup used for capturing photos. Each set typically includes a combination of backdrops, lighting, props, and any other elements that contribute to the overall aesthetic and theme of the photos. For instance, in a newborn photoshoot, a set might consist of a specially designed backdrop, soft lighting, a cozy blanket, and gentle, baby-friendly props.

When I mention the 'set count' for a session, it refers to the number of these unique arrangements or themes that will be prepared and used during your photoshoot. Each set offers a different visual environment and mood, allowing for a variety of styles and looks in your final photographs. This variety is especially valuable in creating a diverse and rich collection of images, ensuring that you have a range of options to choose from.

In essence, a set is like a mini-stage designed specifically for each segment of your photoshoot, carefully crafted to bring out the best in your photos.

Do I need to bring outfits or wraps for the baby?

No, you don't need to bring any outfits or wraps for the baby. All you need to bring is your little one and their food. I have a wide array of outfits, props, accessories, and everything else needed for the newborn session. My collection is designed to cater to various styles and preferences, ensuring that we have the perfect look for your baby's photoshoot.
However, if there is something sentimental that you would like to include in the session, like a family heirloom or a personal item, I am absolutely open to incorporating it. This can add a special and meaningful touch to your baby's photos.
Additionally, I offer special props for specific themes, interests, or professions. Whether you have a particular concept in mind or a unique aspect of your family's life you'd like to highlight, I can accommodate these requests to make your baby's photoshoot even more personalized and memorable. So rest assured, everything is taken care of – just bring your baby and let's create some beautiful memories!

Can I have other people in my photoshoot?

Certainly! I welcome the inclusion of immediate family members in your photoshoot at no additional charge. It's a wonderful opportunity to capture both individual and family moments in a single session. We can seamlessly blend solo portraits with group poses, ensuring that everyone gets their moment in front of the camera. This approach allows us to create a diverse and comprehensive collection of images that celebrate both your individuality and the special bond you share with your family. So, feel free to bring along your loved ones, and together, we'll create lasting memories through a variety of beautiful poses and compositions.
